How is everybody doing out there?

The past few weeks have brought many unexpected challenges for everyone around the world, including our team. Our editors have had their study abroad opportunities cut short as well as their commencement ceremonies indefinitely canceled. It has been hard to find bright spots in so much darkness, but we hope this list of things that have been bringing us comfort will help do the same for you.

EMMA — Watch Now

Oh, the best of the Jane Austen heroines has gotten a fabulous reboot in this Autumn de Wilde re-telling of the classic novel. Watch as Emma tries to play matchmaker to everyone around her, remaining blind to the love in front of her own eyes for herself. The best part? The film has been released on digital platforms, so you needn't leave your home. Just put on a pot of tea.

Fleabag - Watch Now

I know I’m a little late to the game, but this show is so good. I think Fleabag is one of the best female anti-heroes I’ve seen on TV. So often, this sort of raunchy honest role is reserved for men. But Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s portrayal is funny, touching, and infuriating all at once. Plus, Andrew Scott as a swearing priest is really something we should all be checking out.

MadFit - Watch Now

So the gyms are closed and workout classes are canceled, but this doesn't mean we can't stay active in our own homes. MadFit's channel offers cardio, strength, and dance workouts that are fun, easy, and apartment-friendly as well. There's something for everyone on the channel to keep us busy and healthy.

Sofia Jannok - Listen Now

While listening to a curated playlist of international folk music, I came across Sofia Jannok and fell in love with her work. Though she lives in Sweden, she calls the northern Sápmi lands, and the Sámi culture she grew up in, her true home. Her music explores the history and current status of the indigenous Sámi people in Scandinavia along with themes present in Sámi folktales. Sung in English, Swedish, and the Sámi language, Jannok’s music combines modern electronic and bedroom-pop beats with Sámi melodies and traditional Sámi joik singing.
