EU SME Centre Annual Conference “How to Tackle a Changing Chinaâ€
In 2015 China’s economy grew by 6.9% which is a slowdown compared to its double digit growth in previous years. This has led to economic restructuring driven by a ‘quality before quantity’ approach to use capital and resources in a more efficient and environmentally sustainable way. Foreign-funded SMEs in China mostly operate in 1) Manufacturing 2) Retail & wholesale 3) IT services 4) Transport, post and storage and in 5) Scientific research sectors. In all of these sectors, incorporating IP protection strategy as part of the overall business objectives is essential for successful market penetration. The latter found also recognition during the Helpdesk Expert Reinout van Malenstein’s presentation, delivered during the EU SME Centre’s Annual Conference on 31 May 2016.
