Kumusta OYFAM!
Thank you to everyone who came to CultureFest practice today! Littles & First Timers- don't be intimidated by CultureFest. It honestly is a lot of fun and is a great way to bond with a lot of OYFANs. I had such a great time practising with my peeps despite how bad of a dancer I am (Co-chair has all the talents). I'm just so happy to see so many of you come out!
Also, Penny Wars. This is getting real guys. Donate, Pay, Win.

D7 Representatives
Magandang Gabi OYFA!
Mark your calendars for Hoo Am I? It will be held on Wednesday September 30th, from 7-8.30pm. It is a panel for A/APA members of our community to speak about their experiences on Grounds with regards to racism/micro-aggression, under-representation of A/APA community in areas outside of cultural organizations, and self-segregation of A/APA community from the rest of the university community.

The D7 Executive Board is currently looking for a National Director Proxy. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!
GET HYPED for D7 Olympics! Get your blood, sweat, and tears ready because it's time to throw down! It will be held Saturday October 3 at VCU. Fill out this form for rides, housing and what games you want to play. Come out & help OYFA slay the other D7 schools at Olympics! You also get to have a fun field day with friends and soon-to-be-friends from all over our district!
Lastly, if you have any gently used clothes, bags, shoes and accessories, donate them to the OYFA Thrift Store. If you have any donations, you are more than welcome to email or facebook message Jean (jms2wz) or Patricia (pgg3zg) and we’ll work out a time to pick them up from you.
Let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns!
Much Mahal,
Your D7 Reps

Trivia
So, just as always, the first person to respond correctly to the following questions will be featured as next week's Featured OYFAN. However, anyone else who answers correctly will be entered into a raffle to win some awesome OYFA merch at the next General Meeting! You can find the answers in this WIO as well as OYFA's site.
- Where will the Hoo Am I? Panel be held?
- Where will you be tomorrow at 7pm?
- What has been your favorite part of Big/Little week? or What are you most looking forward to? (Same as last week I know but still I want more answers)

Featured OYFAN
Name: Sarah Chwiki
Graduation Year: 2017
Major: Cognitive Science & Psychology
What was your favorite part of culture fest?
My favorite part of culture fest was getting to know/bonding with the oyfans in my class and partaking in certain traditions that occur during some practices ;)
What do you plan to do post-grad?
After I graduate, I plan on doing a post-bac program at the National Institutes of Health and then hopefully move on to med school!
Favorite OYFA Memory:
My favorite OYFA memory was the night before Barrio 2014 because of the incredible struggle to find a location to rehearse all night. We got kicked out of Ern Commons and the stadium parking garage (yes, we tried rehearsing in a parking garage) and somehow ended up in the band building on Culbreth where we then watched the last minutes of UVA Men's basketball lose to Michigan State in the Sweet 16 round and then proceeded to rehearse all night.

Here are some words of wisdom I'd like to share this week.
I know that family week is getting intense, and the competition is lit. But don't forget that all of OYFA is a family, no matter which one you were born into.
And for the babies specifically, have fun and don't be afraid to try something new perhaps! Do Culturefest! Answer a trivia question! Go wild! Don't worry about what anyone thinks. We love you even if you can't dance. It's truly a great experience and you really do bond with your class. Trust me. (If you are not a baby, this does not apply to you. If you can't dance we no longer love you. I'm sorry. Learn to dance or something.)
And most importantly, be yourself.
I love you all,
Jerome
PS Jk that wasn't the last point. (Well duh obviously be yourself) but yeah. Idk man. Here's a gorgeous photo of me and my co-family head Daniel.
