Culturefest practices are now  LIT with the help of our babies and members who've come out and supported all our participants. That being said, Culturefest is this SATURDAY at the AMPHITHEATER! Come see what our dancers have in store for all of us! (Hint: bodyrolls) Office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. Friday will be our last practice (FREE CHICKEN!). THANKS TO CHOREOGRAPHERS and to the peeps who filled in. Keep doin' yo thang Lils. WERK. YAaSSs.

Guess what? ~FILIPINO FOOD NIGHT~ is this Thursday from 5 - 8 PM! You can find us tabling from Monday to Wednesday at Newcomb and at O'Hill from 11 AM - 2 PM. Buy your tickets before Thursday to get that special pre-show discount! And speaking of discount, remember that all performers get a discount on tickets as well! Hey OYFAmily!
Halloween is right around the corner, so what would it be without CANDY AND COSTUMES!? Join us & pass out candy at Trick or Treating on the Lawn, October 30th, 4-6pm. The family who brings the MOST CANDY (by weight) will get a *special prize*!! You can drop off candy to Ariana, Misha, or your family heads between now and the event. There will also be a prize for Best Costume, so get creative and dress up!

Our mentor/mentee meeting this month is going to be on October 21st at 5:00 pm in Newcomb conference room 389. We’ll be partnering with Career Peer Educators for a workshop for “How to Stand Out at a Career Fair” and we’ll also be learning how to use LinkedIn.
We will be starting the workshop promptly at 5:10 pm so please make sure to get there on time!

Hey OYFA!
Football season is about to end, we had our last game of the season and now it's finally going to be PLAYOFFS!!!! We may have lost against GCF 1, without a doubt we fought hard. Our next game will TBD. Come thru if you haven't yet!
We also have gotten started with IM BASKETBALL and played against AKPsi for a tough match that ended in a tie (41-41). Our next game will be on Thursday 10/22 against VSA.
WE THANK EVERYONE FOR COMING OUT <3 You can't play sports without your TEAM.

FIND: D7
Magandang Gabi OYFA!
I hope you guys are surviving midterms! Just a reminder that we’re collecting any gently used clothes, bags, shoes and accessories and donate them to the OYFA Thrift Store. Your donations will be sold in December at Newcomb and all proceeds will go towards FIND D7. If you have any donations, you are more than welcome to email or facebook message Patricia (pgg3zg) and I’ll work out a time to pick them up from you.
The D7 Executive Board is also currently looking for a National Director Proxy & a PR Chair. No D7 experience is needed. The National Director Proxy’s position is an understudy to the National Directors (NDs), who act as liaisons between D7 and FIND. They are tasked to provide FIND updates on the goings on in our district as well as supporting the work of the other districts. The Public Relations chair is responsible for handling all social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. He/She is the acting liaison between all District VII member schools for relaying any information including FIND, Inc. events and District VII events. This position is responsible for having access to photo editing programs for promotional material.

What do you plan to do post-grad? Hopefully attend Batten to get a Masters in Public Policy
Favorite OYFA Memory: My favorite memory was creating the inaugural Lakas 5k: Glow Run. It was a lot of fun and it was really one of the first times OYFA was able to get the entire UVA and Charlottesville community on board with helping us raise money for The He Cares Foundation. Plus all the late nights with my co-chair, Rachel Zaragoza, and Richard Lay to make the Glow Run happen was an invaluable experience that I learned a lot from.
Would you be a friendly ghost or a scary ghost? Why? I would much rather be a scary ghost. I would lead a much more exciting life and I like hiding and scaring people in real life anyways.
