Hey OYFA!
A mere two weeks stands between us and Board Elections for the 2016-2017 school year. Feel free to nominate anyone you feel would be appropriate for the position, including yourself. Nominations will be accepted until 11:59 PM on February 20th. If you would like to drop your nomination or switch positions, you have until 1:59 PM on February 21st. Hello OYFA!
The Annual Winter Classic Football Tournament is just weeks away (February 13th-14th). We will be hosting members from several D7 schools for a weekend of friendly competition and comradery. Contact Patrica and I if you would willing to host someone for the night at your house/apartment.
We will be organizing OYFAns to visit other D7 schools for their culture shows! Look out for sigh-up sheets from now to around Bario time. Cars and drivers are especially needed.

During OYFA's last general meeting, Culture revealed this year's Barrio theme to be Pinagmulan: Origins. We hope to explore the diverse and multifaceted culture and history of the Philippines. That being said, none of that can happen without your help. Skit auditions are taking place on Tuesday, 6-7PM, location Newcomb Conference Rm. 360. Thank you all for coming to Sushi King after the last general meeting and supporting our Scholarship Fund!! Remember that whenever you go to Sushi King to turn in BOTH of your receipts! Give the customer copy of your receipt to the front desk with OYFA written on it so that they can keep it for their records and so that we can 5% of the proceeds!!! If you run into any problems or are confused on how the sponsorship works, contact one of us for help!

CAPAL Internship Opportunity
The Conference on Asian and Pacific American Leadership is now accepting applicants for the 2016 Federal Internship Program and Public Service Scholarship Program. The programs include weekly leadership seminars, networking opportunities, Community Action Projects, and individual mentorship.
Federal Internship Program
CAPAL places students in internships within the federal government in Washington, DC. Opportunities in regional offices, including California, Texas, and Wisconsin, may be possible. Depending on interests and placement, intern duties vary and may include policy or scientific research, project coordination and management, business, law, communication, and more. Each CAPAL intern will be awarded a $3,000 stipend plus $500 for travel/relocation expenses.

Public Service Scholarship Program
CAPAL offers scholarships of $3,500 to outstanding students serving in unpaid public service internships (nonprofit or government) in the Washington, DC metropolitan area this summer. CAPAL Scholars may not receive any other source of funding.

Desired Qualifications
