Dear Miksang Friends

Our fall newsletter is full of new courses and updates about activities at the Miksang Institute. We hope that all of you will be able to connect further with your passion for photography and direct seeing through the many avenues we are creating.


Miksang Institute Instructor News

Brian Sano and our new Opening the Good Eye instructor April Siegfried are preparing to teach their fall courses in Hendersonville and Gettysburg.

Hiltrud Enders in Germany is teaching her first Making Contact course in Dusseldorf in October. Hiltrud is now authorized to teach The Heart of Perception in addition to the first two levels our Miksang Training Curriculum. She is our principal European instructor, and we are very happy she has taken a leadership role in the development and training of European students of Miksang.

Two Workshops at Royal Roads University



Michael Wood and Julie DuBose will be teaching the Opening the Good Eye and Making Contact courses once again back to back at Royal Roads. Our Opening the Good Eye course in April 2015 at Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C. is now accredited towards of the Applied Mindfulness Meditation Certificate being offered through Royal Roads and the University of Toronto.
 


Miksang Institute 2015 Summer Intensive



The Institute Summer Intensive is scheduled to from August 6-August 20 this year, and will be the first three courses in the curriculum. We hope that everyone will sign up early and secure their housing. This is a popular summer vacation spot in the US, and August is the most popular time of year here.  We will send an announcement when the courses details are available on the miksang.com website. 
 


 The Miksang Online Academy

Finally, we are very pleased to announce the opening of the Miksang Institute Online Academy. We are beginning with two online weekend workshops:

Refreshing the Good Eye - Part One and Part Two this fall

We will be adding more online courses to help refresh our Miksang practice and understanding and catch everyone up on new material we are presenting. 
 


We have many more projects in the pipeline and you will be kept up to date!

Welcome to the Miksang Institute Newsletter

The Miksang Institute of Contemplative Photography® was established by Julie DuBose and Michael Wood to promote the Miksang Training curriculum and the expression of direct, non-conceptual visual experience through various related disciplines. 

The Institute presents courses in the core Miksang Training curriculum as well as courses designed to teach the integration of the practice of Miksang principles into art education and art therapy, film making, printing, and familiarity with the medium of digital photography and its use in the expression of Miksang images. Learn More...
