Dr Helen Cullington is continuing our centre’s work on remote care for people with cochlear implants. She has just been awarded another grant from The Health Foundation to start spreading the improvement that happened in the remote care trial last year.

AIS+ Experts in Hearing & Balance

In this section we will discuss activities which are additional to our core NHS service.

AIS+ is an umbrella of private and self-funded clinical services as well as knowledge services which include professional training, clinical placements and masters level teaching.
The clinical services we offer include assessment and treatment for Auditory Processing Disorder, Self-funded cochlear implants and a private hearing and balance clinic.
We are now pleased to announce the launch of our contralateral self-funded cochlear implant service which is open to adult patients who already have a cochlear implant from our service and would another on the other side. Enquiries via ais.plus@soton.ac.uk

Advanced Bionics have launched the Naida Bimodal Hearing Solution which involves a Naida cochlear implant processor and a Naida Link hearing aid. (Please note: USAIS are not a registered hearing aid provider so we are unable to provide the hearing aids at our service)

Cochlear have launched their new off-the-ear sound processor, Kanso. (Please note: USAIS are not currently offering this device)
|
|
|
MED-EL are now offering rechargeable batteries for the SONNET sound processor. We are pleased to be able to offer these to suitable patients.
