While the rest of Australia is cautiously getting on with life after the initial Covid lockdown, in Victoria it’s a case of déjà vu. The Premier last night declaring a State of Disaster for Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire with the implementation of immediate Stage 4 restrictions with Regional Victoria going to Stage 3.
Stage 4 restrictions means no boating, fishing, surfing, golf, tennis etc. No outdoor exercise any further than 5km from your home and only with one other person, Only one person from each household can go shopping for essentials, once per day and no further than 5km from home, face masks to be worn outside of the home at all times and a nightly curfew from 8pm till 5am.
More details on the closure of businesses are to be announced by the Premier within the next couple of days. For the full details on the Victorian restrictions
While we here in Victoria deal with this second wave, the rest of the country is cautiously moving ahead with what is fast becoming the new normal. On the Gold Coast they’ve even had a Covid-Safe boat show. The full details on that and everything else happening with marine from around the country, in this edition.
So, as we say each time, sit back, browse through and enjoy the read, in the meantime, I’ll get my mask on, it’s my turn to go out and get the bread and milk.
Cheers, see you out on the water (soon I hope)
