Greetings <<First Name>>, welcome to this week's newsletter!

Lockdown!

I see many people online bemoaning being stuck indoors. I get that, for the first 4 or 5 days I was going stir crazy, a touch of cabin fever. I was so wound up I called my GP to try to convince them they should clear me to go out and about, I was so concerned about the guys I have been supporting, sadly she said NOOOOO!

So, I had to accept this is it, my new reality for a while. Then I settled into it, gave up stressing over what I couldn’t do anything about and started to look at the opportunities presented by this situation.

This is an ideal opportunity for reflection, for taking stock and looking at things I had put aside because I was too busy. We moved our bible cafe discussion group online (click here to join us Thursday 7pm) and moved our worship from Sunday to Fridays, also online at 7pm (click here to join us). A brave new world for some of us but it allowed us to still connect to each other, to worship together and come closer to God. After all, we thought every church in the country is probably doing online worship on Sundays, so, choose another day lol. After all, worshipping God is not just a Sunday thing, its an everyday thing.

Worshipping from home worked for me, after all it allowed me to relax on my sofa while preaching, using my own bread for communion and wear lounge trousers and T shirt lol.

All of us joined in our own homes, after all I am pretty sure Jesus and his disciples worshipped every day not just at the weekend. After all, while walking between places I am sure they sang or whistled songs, so there’s your music, they prayed every day and Jesus spoke to them and taught them, there’s your sermon.

Worship is a part of my everyday life, I sing worship songs, or whistle them all the time, I talk to God as part of an ongoing conversation, and I try to see the lesson contained in every day.

So, lets use this time to look at how we can build worship into our daily routine.

Stay safe and have a reflective and truly blessed week

Andrew
