Share's Summer Garden Party
We promised fun and games, music and dance…and, come rain or shine, there was no stopping us!
This day was all about our students and their families and carers – a day for them to enjoy Share's beautiful garden with those closest to them as well as share a sumptuous lunch, once again kindly provided by the Tooting Business Network and the Khalsa Centre in Tooting.
As in previous years, we were very lucky and grateful to have the support of our main sponsors for this event – Mr K C Patel, Mr Indrajit Patel, Mr Pravin Pattni and Mr Vasant Patel, who all run businesses on the Upper Tooting Road in Tooting. In association with other businesses in the area – Patel Brothers, Bhavins Grocers and Dadus Cash and Carry in Tooting as well as the Khalsa Centre and Gurkha's Diner – these sponsors have been extremely generous and committed in their support of Share and its work over the years.
During the party, we had a cycling taster thanks to Wheels for Wellbeing and Cycling for All, boccia thanks to Disability Sports Coach, lots of games to try your hand at, an earring-making workshop, cakes, plants and other produce from the garden for sale, and music care of our in-house super duper DJ team, Share students Karina and Joyce.
This year's raffle prizes were provided by the National Trust's Polesden Lacey in Surrey, Gurkha Diner in Balham, M&S Clapham South and Little India in Tooting, with the Mayor of Wandsworth, Cllr Stuart Thom, in attendance to draw some lucky winners.
