Here are a few prayer requests:

  • We really need another van to pick up people and bring them to church.  Our 1990, 15 passenger van has been carrying up to 40 people in one load!
  • The church is still without a regular worship band.  We have been using someone different every week and they are usually a great blessing but a few groups have not shown up which is a challenge having a service without worship music.
  • For God’s plan, provision and vision for the land and building.  God is never in a hurry but I confess, sometimes I am!  James 1:3  Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.

Tijuana School Program
   and Loving Others

1 John 3:18  Little children, let us not love in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity).

So much to tell and so little time.  This was a fantastic summer with a lot of wonderful people coming down to serve, bring backpacks, school supplies, food and share the love of Jesus.  The Tijuana School Program was so blessed that over 350 filled backpacks were distributed through five different ministries.  At least 45 kids received full sponsorships including two pairs of shoes and two uniforms.  Many are still being outfitted as the schools decide on uniforms, etc.  One new school in Antorchista is meeting under a big tarp (not tent) in the street!  250 pairs of black school shoes and tennis shoes were distributed, mainly to kids who attend feeding programs.

Every day before the backpacks arrived the kids would ask me “when” with great anticipation and smiles.  Receiving a backpacks with supplies is so important to them.  Sending them off with the Word of God and a warm lunch is important to me as we pray for them and watch them become tomorrow’s leaders!

Thank you to all who participated in this year’s sponsorships.   This year’s partnerships with Club Dust, Costco and DIF (Child & Family Development) brought more blessings and less stress.  There are more people following Jesus and more kids who can see that God loves them.  We don’t give things to the people so they will come to church but I see people coming to church because we love them enough to care about the well being of their children and their families.  “Love them until they ask you why” is one of my favorite evangelism quotes and we are seeing the fruit!

Last week a team cooked 150 hamburgers and took some kids to the park to play - simple acts of kindness.  We saw a young many who came for a hamburger accept Jesus and was in church on Sunday!

Hunger is real.  Sometimes I am ashamed to say that I have never experienced hunger did not have food to eat.  Recently I gave a lady a bag of flour and a bag of rice and I could see the anxiousness in her eyes as she had no food at home.  Our lunch kitchen is filled with kids and we are praying to be able to provide food for the children in Antorchista where the poverty seems to be even more extreme.  As always, we want to do things in God’s order and glorifying him.  Discipleship is where we see growth - not just giving out stuff on the streets.  What’s it all about anyhow? - JESUS!

No building projects have been started on the lot.  The lease is up on Dec. 1. We have no idea what we are doing but we are sure that God has the plan.

Javier’s Mexican adoption is on the last stretch!  We could be finalizing things early next year and then the trek to get him naturalized into the U.S. would start.  If you know anything about that procedure, feel free to give me some advice or info!

My oldest son, Jeff, his wife and my three grandsons just returned from two years serving in S. Africa with YWAM and are now living in Northern California.  Jeff will continue to teach and speak in different parts of the world but I am excited to have the family within driving distance for the first time since they were married 8 years ago.

In the last two weeks I became aware of three young boys in our church who have severe medical needs.  Please pray for these boys and that God would direct us to the right doctors and would heal them.  One is a two year old with epilepsy and a tumor,  the second is a two year old who cannot walk and has had severe asthma and the third is a kindergarten boy with a growing tumor on the back of his head.  I love these little guys and like everything I do, I am passionate about walking with them through this.

Thank you for standing with us, holding us up in prayer and for making it possible for us to be here.  We see families and lives changing, children who are receiving an education, food and love and our vision for the community of Vista del Valle coming slowly to fruition.  It is a privilege to disciple and train leaders to carry the torch.  Our monthly supporters have been super faithful and God is providing for this growing ministry.  Many of you have given "special gifts" that have helped us to lower our debts. Others have raised specific funds for school, backpacks, medical needs and the feeding programs.

We give God the glory for everything.  Psalm 20:4 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans.

Gratefully and humbly,

Cindy and Jose Luis Pesina
