Remembrance Sunday
8th November 2020

This year the event was a live “virtual” broadcast and brought the whole community together in our tribute to those who lost their lives for us.  This event was a group effort including the local Scout groups, Guides, Wyvern College and members of the community.  A special thank you goes to Gary Stupple from St Toms for his enthusiasm and IT skills.

Corporate Plan – Public Engagement Survey

We are currently undertaking a community engagement survey, the purpose of which is to capture the views of residents to help shape and develop the Council’s future priorities.

Your views are valuable to us, so please take the time to complete this short survey by clicking the following link: Take the Survey

Paper copies will also be made available at key locations throughout the Parish, such as the doctors surgery, Fair Oak library and schools.
Christmas Scavenger Hunt
We have set up a scavenger hunt around Knowle Park.
The trail will run from 1 December until 13 December and instructions sheets will be available to download here
There will be all sorts of themed Christmas items to find, including a Christmas tree, Snowman and Christmas train.  Once you have completed the trail, take a selfie with the large snowman (fancy dress encouraged but optional!) and send it to or send it as a private message to our Facebook page, and we will pick 3 winners who will each win a prize!  Good luck everybody!
Covid-19 support

In recognition of our services, Eastleigh Borough Council has granted the Parish £24,600 towards the losses incurred as a result of the closure of community buildings and sports facilities during the pandemic, and associated reduction in income.  This money will be reinvested to provide much needed equipment for our core service provision.

Asset News

Christmas Lights

The two villages, in key places, are decorated with Christmas lights with one large tree in The Square.  The Parish Council entered a joint venture with Eastleigh Borough Council and other neighbouring Parishes for the installation and maintenance of these new lights.   You will also see handmade decorations created with recycled materials by our Parish ground staff.
Meadowsweet Way Play Area

The new play area is now open and we have received many positive comments about its design.  Let us know what you think.
Crowdhill Green

The Parish Council, along with Eastleigh Borough Council, has developed an information page providing key information on the development for residents. This can be seen on our website here

The Parish and Borough Council continue to work together to resolve the outstanding issues on this site.
Fair Oak Library
The first “virtual” meeting of volunteers took place on Saturday 7 November.  The Parish Clerk and Cllr Couldrey are now working with 15 volunteer residents on different aspects to see if a community led library/hub can continue in the village.  Members of the Parish Council have deferred making any final decisions on financial support until all financial implications of the project are known.
Eastleigh Basics Bank

In recognising that we might have a difficult winter, the Parish Council has now purchased two yellow wheelie bins to receive donations towards the Eastleigh Basics Food Bank.

The bins are placed at the Woodland Community Centre, Savernake Way every weekday between 1000 hrs and 1600 hrs and the Parish Office, 2 Knowle Park Lane every weekday between 0830 hrs and 1530 hrs.  Our caretaker will collect all donations from the bins daily and drop these to the Food Bank.
This month we have received 500 donations!
Thank you to everyone who has supported this.
