Your Food Safety Professionals

Dear Foodie Friends,
Our newsletter comes to you with words of experience and sincerity to assist you making food safer.
Reflecting back on all my industry experience which is greater than twenty five years now, if I can give you advice I would say communicate, communicate, communicate. It always come back to communication. This is not a matter of being able to over communicate. Communicate internally and externally. Internally with all cross functional departments, externally with customers, vendors and service providers. Communicate any change regardless how small. Regardless if you are launching a product or deleting a SKU. The smallest change can lead to the biggest issue. Change in formulation, packaging material, raw material, country of origin, supplier change, new equipment purchase or installation, serving size change, new associates any change in your business needs to be communicated with all relevant associates to prevent a food safety incident occurring causing a withdrawal or a food safety recall.
I have seen a supplier change of sunflower seeds being originally supplied from the US moving to China without warning. After many consumer complaints of broken teeth the change was discovered. To avoid such incidents occurring communication is the key and correct change management processes in place will significantly reduce this occurring. If you don’t have a change management process in place which consists of a checklist, sign off from all functional departments and the required procedure documented then please take the time to implement it. You won’t regret it.
If you need help, you know who to call: Let Elevating Food Safety help you. Call us now for assistance.
We look forward to hear from you and until next issue let me leave you with my parting motivation.

"Leaders anticipate change while the others are left reacting to it."
