"I see the evidence of your goodness. All over my life..."
Dear Friends and Family,
Welcome to the new subscribers. I haven't done great job of personally welcoming folks but by God's grace the CCFS Newsletter audience is growing in baby-steps. Thank you all for continuing to read and share this content. I pray it is blessing you and pointing you to Jesus because being loved by Jesus changes everything.
For those who are new, please feel free to check out the August summer plans HERE, and last week's newsletter HERE.
QUESTION - If someone came up to you right now and asked you to give them one piece of evidence of God's goodness in your life that you've see this past week, how would you respond?
This question stirred in me during my reading through Daniel this week. It is good for us to pay close attention to how the prophets understood the gospel, and in this case, we see Daniel understood it as evidenced by his prayer in Chapter 9.
Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name."
Daniel 9:18-19 (NIV)
Perhaps this reminds you of Titus 3:4-5
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
Titus 3:4-5 (NIV)
The goodness of God is always manifested in the fact that he saved us and redeemed us out of the overflow of his grace and mercy to us in Christ.
I am praying for you all by name as I send this, and specifically asking that God, by His Spirit, would cause you to see, in ever increasing measure, the evidences of his goodness to you in his Son. Remember, if you are in Christ, you were bought by his precious blood (1 Pet 1:19) when, out the goodness and loving kindness of God, Jesus appeared (Titus 3:4).
So as you walk in faith, will see you see the goodness of of God all over your life?
I also pray the excerpts below bless you along with Week 2 of the CCFS Summer playlist.
Until next time...

Summer Personal Reflections
"Whenever a sense of sin lies upon our conscience, two persons, it seems, fight to get a hold of that conviction…the devil and the Holy Spirit. The devil wants to get a hold of it in order to take it and us to Sinai, and there condemn us and bring us into bondage. The Holy Spirit, however, wants to take us and our sin to Calvary, there to bring us through the Door into peace and freedom." (Page 83)
We Would See Jesus, by Roy and Revel Hession
I cannot commend this little book to you enough. It is a perfect book to read at least once a year to remind your soul of sweetness of the good news of Jesus Christ. May you never be bored of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

"In grief, we are tempted view God through the lens of our loss. Christ invites us to view the Father through the lens of the cross." (Page 25)
Grief: Walking with Jesus, by Bob Kellemen
__________
Text: Proverbs 20:5 (NIV) The purposes of a person's heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.
Reflection: Sometimes the purposes of man’s heart are in conflict with the purposes of God’s heart. A proper glimpse and grasp of the cross of Christ, however, clarifies those differences for the sake of our soul. When we see Christ as Savior, the heart's deepest purpose changes so we can, in him, live, move and have our being. May you look to the Living Word, Jesus, the one who has both perfect insight into your heart, and thereby draws out of your heart all that separates you from him (our sin) and then fills you with living water; filling you with a love for him like you've never had before; a love that changes everything.
