Dear Member,
We have reached the end of a year that none of us could have imagined as we sipped champagne and plotted resolutions at its start. COVID-19 and its impact has been the greatest shock to personal and professional systems that most of us would have experienced. But it has also allowed companies in our sector to once again prove their levels of agility and adaptability to respond to challenging situations.
NAACAM and its members were central to early responses to support PPE and other health-related production this year. This was managed at a time when the immediate outlook for our sector was very uncertain. Now as we look back, having resumed a level of normality in terms of our core business, being autos production, with the past quarter showing evidence of recovery, we breathe a bit easier. There remains turbulence expected in the short term, but let’s hope we smooth-out sooner rather than later.
It is opportune to wish you all well over the coming break. The COVID-19 threat is still strong, so please take all obvious precautions, but find ways of relaxing and having fun. Thank you for the on-going support to and engagement with our association, and hopefully we get a final chance to meet before the year is up at the first-ever NAACAM digital AGM to be held on 1 December. Happy Holidays!
Renai Moothilal
Executive Director
