Launch of Ovarian Cancer Australia's New Webinar Page

An online information & education webinar resource library

Each year over 1500 women from across Australia are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. To meet their supportive care needs consumer driven, innovative approaches to deliver vital support services are required. In 2016, Ovarian Cancer Australia (OCA) trialled the uptake and acceptability of a webinar program for women with ovarian cancer and their supporters. This online program aimed to ensure that those affected had access to up-to-date information and support wherever and whenever consumers need it. Topics included: Genetics & Family History, Living with Hope & Uncertainty and Clinical Trials.

Further to the pilot program we are delighted to announce the launch of Ovarian Cancer Australia’s new webinar page on our website where the recordings have been made available as an online information and education resource. CLICK HERE to visit our webinar page.

Ovarian Cancer Registry

Ovarian Cancer Australia, along with the CASS Foundation and the Australian Society of Gynaecologic Oncologists is supporting a new clinical quality registry pilot for ovarian cancer. This initiative of Monash University's School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is bringing together data from a handful of hospitals treating women with ovarian cancer across Melbourne, to compare the way that the disease is managed at different sites. The aim is to give participating hospitals new insight into their relative performance across a range of measures related to quality of care, so that they can investigate and improve processes where needed. It is hoped that this pilot will eventually expand across Australia. This would serve both as a tool for quality improvement, and as a resource for clinical trials and other research projects. Watch this space and our website for further details!
