Spoke the Hub invites children and adults of all ages to join us for our first power-packed weekend of the new fall season, including riveting performances, youth scholarship auditions, art openings, a smorgasboard of free sample classes with STH’s fabulous faculty, and of course, in-person registration for our fall term!

Full and partial STH scholarships are awarded to young people, ages 8-16, for general dance study during the school year based on merit and financial need.  Children of color are particularly encouraged to audition. Serious dance and theater students interested in creating and performing their own original work as part of STH’s Young Artists Dance/Theater should also attend the audition if new to STH.

Smartypens: Where digital natives write

Every Tuesday from 4.30-6.30 PM, a new multimedia journalism workshop for 9-12 year olds! Children will learn to write confidently and tell stories as they see them. Unfiltered, unbiased, and well written.

Saturday Mornings @ Gowanus Arts

STH & Brooklyn Music Factory have partnered up to offer a fun-filled morning for the whole family. Drop off your kids on the 2nd floor for their music lessons with BMF, then run upstairs to STH to take your own adult movement class on the 3rd floor at the same time. Ask about Special Pricing for BMF & STH members.

Fashion Week Brooklyn has invited one of STH's lucky young designers from summer Camp Gowanee's Brooklyn Fashionista Week to show their original designs as part of the opening night festivities on Thursday October 2, 2014.
Camp Instructor and professional fashion designer Iliana Quander will also be showing her latest original designs on the runway that night as well - don't miss it!

"So, You Think You Can Choreograph?"

NACRE, is seeking a guest choreographer for the 2014-2015 season. Contestants will be chosen to participate in a special performance in Saratoga Springs in November where the audience will vote for their favorite. The winner will have the opportunity to work with Nacre company members (paid position) to create an original piece to be featured during the 2015 season.

On-line applications are available on the website at Deadline for submissions is September 15, 2014.
