Chamber Coffee Social

It is time for the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce monthly coffee social! This month we will be meeting at the Clearwater Village on Thursday, February 9th, at 9:30 am. Join in the conversation about what is happening with the Chamber and other businesses in the community. 


A reminder of the First Baptist Church's monthly Ladies Luncheon. The lunch takes place on the first Friday of every month. The next one will be Friday, February 3rd , from 11am - 2pm. This event is open to ALL ladies in the community, not just church members. If you have any questions please contact Amy at 620-584-2058.

Community Biscuits & Gravy

The entire community is invited to the Clearwater Community Center for the monthly All You Can Eat Biscuits & Gravy event. It will be held on Saturday, February 18th, from 7:30 am to 10:30 am. Cost is $4 for adults, and $2 for children. Come out and enjoy some good food and help support the Community Center.

USD 264 News

If you have read the local paper, you have probably caught wind that there will be a bond election in April of 2017. The funds from this bond issue will go to capital improvements around the district mainly focusing on safety and security. There is a lot of detail to the project, but some of the highlights would be secured entry points at all schools and storm shelters for Elementary West, the CIC and the Middle School. We will continue to share information about the proposal, details about the projects, and information about public meetings where you can learn more.

Free Tax Prep for 50+

Its that time of year again. Time to get your taxes done. AARP will have volunteers here to help with tax preparation at no cost for people age 50 years and older. They will only handle simple tax returns.

There is also a list of items you will need to bring with you. Be sure that you are given one of these.

Part time Help Wanted

The Clearwater Wellness Center is currently seeking a part-time cleaning person. Flexible hours. If you are interested please call 620-584-9355 or stop by the Wellness Center at 115 E Ross.

Quilt of Valor Program

3rd annual quilt of valor presentation by the Clearwater Old Sew & Sews.
This is a “thank you" to Clearwater Veterans by presenting them with a patriotic quilt. Monday February 20th, Presidents Days at 3:00 pm. At the Clearwater Executive Center 226 E Ross. The community is invited. Among some of the 10 honorees are Veterans,

Every month the Chamber Board of Directors meet to plan and brainstorm new ways to provide benefits to our local Chamber businesses. Every year these positions change in order to keep fresh ideas moving. In 2017 we are excited to announce the following positions.

Preparing for 3rd Annual Art Walk

The Clearwater Art Walk is going to be here before we know it! The 3rd Annual Clearwater Art Walk is planned for Friday, April 7th from 7pm-9pm. If you are interested in hosting again or for the first time, we would love to have you! Please fill out the form and return it as soon as possible. If you have a musician and/or artist in mind, let us know or have them print out a form and return it to us as soon as possible.​

Spud Bar to fund scholarship

Each year the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce offers a scholarship to one deserving Clearwater High School senior. In order to fund this scholarship the Chamber has many events throughout the year. One event is the Annual Chili Feed at the CHS Winter Royalty game. This year that will take place on Friday, February 10th. Come out and show your support for a deserving high school senior. 

Drivers Safety Class

Are you interested in saving some money on your monthly car insurance? AARP Smart Driver Course is being offered at the Clearwater Community Center on February 23rd and 24th from 1pm-5pm. You will have to attend both days. If interested please call 620-584-2332 or email to sign up.

Library News

A new year has begun and is filled with possibilities.  There will be plenty at the Clearwater Public Library;  Lego Land on Tuesdays after school to 4:30 (be sure to check out the newest “creations” in the display case), Story Time on Thursdays at 10:30 and more.  Have you participated in the Valentine’s contests yet?  When you come to our Library to get that print book, or whatever you are wanting/needing remember to try your hand at the Valentine contests! Yes, I know that it is still January but since Valentine’s falls in the middle of the month and I wanted people to have plenty of time to enter. Read more.

Severe Weather Safety

Severe Weather soon will be upon us. Are you prepared?
Sedgwick County Emergency Management presents a program developed by the National Weather Service to help educate Sedgwick County citizens about severe weather and ways to stay safe. The following severe weather safety class is FREE of charge for Sedgwick County residents.
