Growing our team
At the end of 2018 we created a new role within our team: Digital Project Manager. Lotte has taken up this role, putting her background and passion for technology in medical research to use.
Annual data collection 
 AMRC’s annual data collection from members is currently underway. The deadline to return all materials is 15 February. An email was sent out on 7 January to formal reps and grants contacts requesting expenditure and grants data.
New AMRC member charity
 We are pleased to welcome the Oracle Cancer Trust as a new AMRC member charity. Oracle Cancer Trust funds research into head and neck cancer in the UK to find better and kinder treatments.

Research and innovation in NHS England's Long-Term Plan
Earlier this week, NHS England’s new Long-Term Plan was published. AMRC’s chief executive, Aisling Burnand, welcomed the Plan as an important starting point and publicly offered AMRC’s help as the voice of the charitable medical research sector.
Blueprint for the UK's future immigration system published
On 19 December, government published its long-awaited immigration white paper, which sets out a framework for the UK’s post-Brexit immigration system. It is to be phased in during 2021, after the Brexit implementation period.
Brexit: No-deal planning guidance
On 21 December 2018, the Department of Health and Social Care issued further EU Exit Operational Readiness Guidance for providers and commissioners of health and adult social care services in England to prepare for a no-deal scenario.
