New AMRC position statement on Open Access
Yesterday we published a new position statement on Open Access, which indicates AMRC’s support for the new publishing initiatives Plan S and DORA and encourages our members to explore whether they are in a position to sign up to them
NHSX starts to take shape with further details announced
NHSX will be launched in July with Matthew Gould as its CEO, a former government director for cyber security who is currently the Director General for Digital and Media at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

New Halloween deadline for Brexit
Following the Prime Minister’s request for an extension to Article 50, the European Council has granted a long, flexible Brexit delay with a deadline on 31 October. The extension has some conditions, such as an expression of good faith on the UK’s behalf.
Autistica collaborates on citizen science project
Autistica is working with The Alan Turing Institute and the autism community to create an online platform where autistic people, family members and carers can share how sensory processing affects their daily life.

The World Health Organisation released new recommendations on 10 ways that countries can use digital health technology, accessible via mobile phones, tablets and computers, to improve people’s health and essential services.
