"Building Consensus, Capturing Lessons" Share Fair Report

In April 2019, USAID and K4Health organized a share fair, "Building Consensus, Capturing Lessons Learned: Learning from the Zika Response for Future Success", in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The event brought together partner organizations and projects from Latin America and the Caribbean to generate consensus around the design, implementation and utility of effective practices and lessons learned from the USAID Zika response to inform future outbreaks.

Abril 2019, USAID y K4Health organizaron una feria de experiencias, “Construyendo Consensos y Capturando Lecciones Aprendidas: Aprendiendo de la Respuesta del Zika para el Éxito Futuro”, en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. El evento reunió a organizaciones/proyectos asociadas de América Latina y el Caribe para generar consenso en torno al diseño, implementación y utilidad de las prácticas efectivas y lecciones aprendidas de la respuesta de emergencia de USAID Zika, para informar futuros brotes.

Breakthrough Action Zika Insights Report

Guided by Breakthrough ACTION’s social behavior change flow chart and using the human centered design approach, a research team prepared and conducted exploratory research to understand perspectives related to Zika, mosquito breeding, water storage and general health concerns.

Learning from Zika: Lessons for future public health emergencies

On June 11, 2019, USAID and K4Health are hosting the event, “Learning from Zika: Lessons for future public health emergencies” in Washington, D.C. The event will showcase effective approaches in relation to community engagement strategies, effective coordination during an emergency response, impacts on services and health systems, support to affected families, and learning / adapting during a rapid response. Survey on Knowledge Management and the Zika Response

K4Health would love to hear from you regarding the role of knowledge management in the Zika response to inform future outbreak responses. Your responses to our 10-minute survey will support knowledge management efforts in future emergency responses. Please complete the survey by June 7th.

Zika isn't the threat it once was, but many of the recommended prevention behaviors are just as relevant for avoiding other mosquito-borne illnesses such as chikungunya and dengue. CCP has trained hundreds to spread the word. Read more.
