A message from our Chair Yvonne Messina
Welcome to the first edition of the 2020 RDAMWG newsletter. For those who might not be aware Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a national network of 52 committees made up of local leaders who work with all levels of government, business and community groups to support the development of their regions. Over the coming year our staff and the Board will be focused on partnerships that develop strategies along with the delivery of sustainable infrastructure and services to the Mid West and Gascoyne communities. We look forward to working with you.
Murchison Cup in Cue
L-R  Ross Pigdon Shire President Richard Towell Deputy CEO, Les Price Deputy President, and Rob Madson CEO -  Shire of Cue

It was off and racing when RDA MWG, the Shire of Cue and the Cue CRC successfully hosted the Murchison Cup in Cue prior to the Murchison Zone WALGA  meeting. The event brought delegates, visitors and locals alike together to enjoy a great networking opportunity. Funds raised were donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
The Murchison Cup was once again designed, manufactured & donated by D-Trans using a recycled gas bottle!
The winner of the Murchison Cup was Tim Lane from WALGA.

Getting Great with Grants
RDA Midwest Gascoyne is busy talking with 21 Local Government authorities on how to be successful in sourcing and applying for grants. We all know how important grants are to our local communities across the Midwest and Gascoyne. Recently RDA MWG delivered a Grants Writing Workshop in Mingenew which was a great success and well supported by the community.
Join us at Morawa on Wednesday 25th March for the next workshop RSVP to E: morawa@crc.net.au. Contact us if you would like us to visit your community to do the same. To find what Federal grants are available please check here.
RDA Midwest Gascoyne is in the early stages of investigating the potential for a regional MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Chamber of Minerals and Energy (CME).
We are also in the early stages of discussion around the potential for a designated area migration scheme (DAMA) arrangement.
