Welcome <<First Name>>.

Developing your business’s technical capabilities may open the door to opportunities, but to get through that door and land the contract, you need strong business capabilities.
Business capability means that your people have the right skills in financial management, human resources, lean business systems, leadership, culture, marketing, supply chain development, and more.
You uphold strong customer service principles, and you’re also willing to make the hard decisions, like which opportunities you focus on, and what to let go. You’re abreast of new technologies and how they may impact your business model, and you invest in research to help your business grow.
A 2016 study by the Australian Centre for Workplace Leadership found that leadership is integral to productivity, innovation and business capability. However, 40 per cent of businesses are failing to meet return on investment and profitability targets. Too few leaders are seeking external advice from associations, consultants or governments, leaving their businesses vulnerable to weak decision-making and poor growth.
The ICN SA team regularly visits local suppliers so we can better understand your capabilities when putting you forward for opportunities, especially those not associated with published work packages.
Because we’re embedded in the Department for Industry and Skills, we can introduce you to colleagues who focus on business growth, provide access to skilled labour and apprenticeships, and keep you in the loop on upcoming events or programs that can help you grow your business.
There are many other resources available to provide direction and support, including:
  • business.sa.gov.au has a wealth of comprehensive information for businesses to successfully start, run and grow their businesses, and find support, advice and grant programs
  • the Growing South Australia’s Companies Program, delivered by the Australian Centre for Business Growth, which is designed for CEOs, MDs and executives who have customers and revenue, and are looking to take their small to medium business to the next level
  • South Australian (SA) Leaders, which inspires SA companies to achieve sustainable growth, manage succession and evaluate entry and exit strategies
  • the Industry Leaders Fund, which helps fund future leaders who show leadership potential and work in a wealth-creating industry, generating employment and activity that might not otherwise be located in South Australia
  • the Business Evaluation Program, which provides a complete business review and action plan to help business growth in eligible industries.
Navigating and assessing which program or initiative could add the most value to your business can be complex.
The ICN SA team can meet with you to get an in-depth understanding of your business and connect you with solutions that address your growth priorities. Give us a call to book a meeting or site visit with us today.
