From the Head of School
In Year 2, students have been inquiring into types of celebrations, reasons to celebrate and similarities and difference of celebrations around the world. From Diwali to Day of the Dead, Christmas to Chinese New Year, there are many celebrations to investigate around the Central Idea that celebrations Celebrations help us express our beliefs, values and culture. In addition to becoming more knowledgeable about celebrations around the world, this Unit of Inquiry encourages our students to make connections, to be open-minded and to develop intercultural understanding and respect for others. There are some of the key values of the IB Primary Years Programme, and of Think International School.
Our next week at TIS will be a week of celebrations, to which parents are invited. In addition to our whole school celebration of Chinese New Year on Thursday, there are also class celebrations of learning. These celebrations are a chance for students to showcase and demonstrate their leaning. Our students have been working hard to prepare for both celebrations and we hope you are able to attend and enjoy!
