 NYLI Staff Members Welcome the Fall Season

Passing Along Cost Savings to Our Members

We know it's budget season and everyone is tightening their belts and we here at NYLI want to help!  We're streamlining our fees structure, cutting our costs, and in general, shaking things up!

Here's what we've come up with to ease your financial concerns during this busy time of year.  Effective Nov 1st:

  • We're NOT raising dues this year! (Cue applause!)
  • We're reducing our Fast Track service fee from $100 to just $40
  • We're now offering the option to pay your dues quarterly
  • We will continue to offer a 1% discount on full payment of annual dues
  • We're offering the first 30 minutes of research services for free!

We have a new agreement with OCLC that allows NYLI to borrow from other institutions…..  Reach out… as we now have greater access to borrow for you !!!

Fee will only be $20 plus any delivery cost incurred…

New York Comic Con Librarian Events

NYLI's Director of IT and Marketing, Ellyssa Valenti along with with Clara Cabrera co-hosted the following librarian events at New York Comic Con and METRO: The Metropolitan New York Library Council :
 

NYCC Geeky Librarian Meet & Greet + Happy Hour 2019
Friday, October 4, 2019 at 4 PM – 7 PM

Costumed and plain-clothed librarians met at METRO (599 11th Avenue, 8th floor) for a geeky librarian meet and greet and tour of METRO's maker facilities from 4-5pm and then moved on to Hellcat Annie's on 45th and 10th for Happy Hour.  

NYCC Cosplaying Librarians Photo Shoot 2019

Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 1 PM – 2 PM

Librarians and library students met on Saturday at New York Comic Con at 1pm for the annual group cosplay photo shoot.

NYLI Hosts Joint SLANY-LLAGNY Annual Conference Recap

NYLI's Graphic Novel Book Group Now a Subcommittee of LLAGNY's Education Committee

NYLI’s Graphic Novel Book Group has become quite popular and has read titles such as Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess'sStardust,  Persephone, and RX : A Graphic Memoir.  As of September, the book group was officially welcomed as a subcommittee of LLAGNY's Education Committee.
