What Christmas Means
to Crossing Cambodia

So many people get together with their families and celebrate Christmas together in the US. In fact, this year I'm excited that for the first time ever my children get to celebrate Christmas with their grandparents in America. Its an important opportunity to be with the people we love and to celebrate together the wonderful gift we all received when Jesus came down to earth to be with us as a baby.

Even though I'm half a world away from the kids at Crossing Cambodia this year, it is still a joy to see pictures and videos of the Christmas celebration that we have every year. As  we continually work to be like a family to the kids in Cambodia we choose to finish off every year with a Christmas party. It is an opportunity for the kids and staff to sing songs, play games, and share the Christmas message with the families of the children we serve.

This year at Crossing Cambodia everyone got together at the center on Friday the 18th. Sokly purchased a small gift for every child and Hoeurp, our cook, prepared a big meal of fried chicken for everyone! It might not be what you typically think of for a Christmas dinner, but fried chicken is a rare treat and a favorite food for most of the kids in our program.

Sometimes a Christmas party might just seem like a fun distraction, but for our kids who often live on sidewalks and in abandoned buildings it is a few hours in which they get to have fun and know just how much we love them. It is a time when we get to tell them all about how Jesus came down to earth, to be born poor, to be hungry, and to know suffering, much like they have experienced in their own lives. Our Christmas party is a special opportunity to tell them about the day Christ came into the world in order to let all men know just how much God loves them and wants them to be with Him no matter where they come from in society or what they've done in their lives.

For our kids at Crossing Cambodia, a Christmas party is more than just fun, its an opportunity to be together and let them know how much they are loved.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our ministry this year, enabling us to continue reaching out to these kids and making a difference in their lives. Thank you for helping us to make known the love of Christ!

A Merry Christmas to all of you! May God bless you richly as you have so richly blessed us in ministry!

Holz Family Update
10 more days until we fly back to Cambodia!

Nearly 5 months in the US and soon we will hopefully be heading back to Cambodia! We ask that you would please pray that we will be able to get back. Even though we are close to our departure date we are still a little on edge as things could suddenly change without warning. Even up to the day of our departure it is possible that Cambodia may change the entry requirements or prevent us from travelling.

At present Cambodia is enforcing strict entry and quarantine requirements. Even before flying we need to have negative Covid-19 tests dated within 72 hours of our arrival. Because of New Year and the weekend we will need to pay a sizeable sum for travel approved same-day Covid-19 tests and then when we arrive in Cambodia we will need to pay the costs required for 2 weeks of quarantine and additional Covid-19 tests. On top of the plane tickets we've already bought it may costs us over $4000 just to get back into the country of Cambodia. Please pray that God will continue to provide for our family financially and grant us safe travel.

We are incredibly grateful to all our supporters who have helped us while we've been in the US. This time has been a  blessing to us as we were able to accomplish much and take some time out from all that we do in Cambodia. Please pray that all I have learned during this time will continue to enable Crossing Cambodia to fulfill its mission to share the gospel and change lives.

As this year draws to a close we are so grateful for all of you who have been a part of our lives and supported us as we seek to continue following God's calling!
