Hello St George's!
Let's take a moment to think about the prophet Elijah.
There's a time in his life when he feels completely down and alone, and even asks God to take his life. He's completely broken. And in the midst of this turmoil, God doesn't feed him an easy pep talk and doesn't shame him for being sad. He simply let him have a nap, and then gave him a snack. And then they talked it all out.
My friends, I want to encourage you to take naps, eat snacks, and talk to God. I want to help you do that.
Join us for prayer. We pray online regularly, Mon-Thurs, at 8am. Too early? Let me know and we can work something out. But let's make time to talk it out with God together. I also want to encourage you to join us in Thy Kingdom Come prayer wave. More on that below.
Need a snack? You love hot foods? Let me make you a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. If you'd like me to fry you up a batch, let me know! I'd love to set a date and drop off a snack for you and yours.
Not feeling hot chicken? No worries, I'd love to do a porch visit, to connect and to pray with you if you're up for it. Just let me know.
That's all for now. I'm thinking about you and praying for you. We're here for you. So keep safe and sanitized, and see you on Sunday!
Hi Jr. Church Parents!
I hope that you are all enjoying our Children’s Time on Sunday mornings.
I wanted to let you know about a great show that we have been watching with Eve called Superbook: a show about two kids, Joy and Chris, and their Robot Gizmo, who go back in time and participate in Biblical stories.
The kids learn about the Bible and about who God is through these experiences. The first 2 seasons are free on YouTube, you can watch the first episode here:
This week we are looking at the evidence for believing in Christianity. We will be reflecting on the perspective of a person who has decided to believe the claims of Christianity. How can that person make sure they have made the right decision?
Join us online this Tuesday at at 7:30pm. There's no pressure, no follow up, no charge. Just an evening to share your thoughts and feelings of spirituality and faith without judgement, as we explore the Christian faith.
Missed last week? Here are links to last week's talk and discussion guide.
Eamonn has kindly offered a limited supply of excellent and stylish masks to help us stay safe while we go out.
They are free, first come first serve.
If you'd like to secure a mask, please contact Eamonn at: email@example.com
In a small church such as our, much of our operating budget comes from the weekly giving of our members and regular attenders. Your giving counts and is greatly appreciated. Please consider continuing to give to the work of God at St. George's by giving online.
