November 2022

Let the sunshine in…

As one of the gloomiest months of the year has come round again, we can still find some bright spots, and we’re sharing them with you in this issue of COMPASS!

First of all, we’re taking you to visit sunny areas of the world with breakthrough EPR laws introduced by the government in Jordan, and a new project aimed at enhancing waste management in Tunisia.

Then, we have (red) hot news about the European Union’s planned revision of its regulatory framework for packaging, and Canada’s imminent ban on single-use plastics. Plus, Poland is adapting its WEEE regulations to take into account the country’s boom in solar panels.

From the sun to Mars (spoiler alert, this involves a certain snack bar manufacturer!), one of our latest and proudest achievements is closing the loop for complex food packaging. Jan Patrick Schulz describes the spirit of cooperation and innovation behind this milestone in his CEO Corner.

For now, don’t get caught in the November rain. Take shelter instead with some (mostly) good news from our latest COMPASS.
