The Bureau of Engineering is proposing to widen Magnolia Bl. between Cahuenga and Vineland to make more room for cars. WE DON'T NEED more space for cars, especially on streets on the high injury network. This is the opposite of Vision Zero!
1- Show up at the North Hollywood Neighborhood Council meeting on Monday and give public comment
against the widening of the street. The Bureau of Engineering will be there, let’s make our voices heard.
2 - Can’t attend the meeting? Call (818-755-7676) or E-mail Councilmember Krekorian's office
and tell them you are against the widening of Magnolia. Some basic points to say (in your own words):
- Because of induced demand, widening a street only causes more traffic and pollution
- Magnolia Bl. is on the High Injury Network - if the city is serious about Vision Zero, they can't make more room for cars on an already dangerous street
- There is a Senior Center on this stretch that will be negatively impacted by this project.
