Visit Grand Junction Topics

Public Relations Opportunity:

Spring is right around the corner, so if you have spring break offerings or upcoming summer activities, we would like to know about them. Please share details of the information you would like us to pitch to Carly Holbrook at Carly@HandlebarPR.com and Elizabeth Fogarty at ElizabethF@GJcity.org. Doing so, could provide you FREE visibility in popular online and print publications.

We often send images of your business to journalists as part of our pitching strategy and we feature them on our social media and website! Share your best shots via this link so that we can show off your digs just how you like!

Keep an eye on your social channels for a comment on your posts from Visit Grand Junction stating, "We love your photo(s)! Could you please reply with the hashtag #YesGJ to be featured in marketing?" If you see this message, be sure to reply with #YesGJ. Our image requests are generally for a press article, blog, social media, or other free advertising that benefits your business - so replying quickly is important. Please share this with your social media staff as well.

Visit Grand Junction Press Results

Visit Grand Junction's PR Highlights as a result of pitching:

The New York Times listed Grand Junction as one of "52 Places to Go in 2023" on January 12, 2023 - both in print and online. There were only 12 destinations in the U.S. included in this prestigious list. As a direct result of Visit Grand Junction's PR efforts along with our partners, landing on THE list is monumental for Grand Junction and is considered PR gold. The article highlighted Grand Junction areas such as Rattlesnake Canyon, McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, Colorado National Monument, Palisade Plunge, the Colorado River, and Downtown Grand Junction. The printed version of this article has an ad equivalency of $282,740 and the online version has an ad equivalency of $290,184, which is a total ad equivalency of $572,924. Due to VisitGrandJunction.com being hyperlinked in the sixth word of the article, significant traffic to the Visit GJ website has resulted, including requests for the Official Grand Junction Visitor Guide.

In partnership with CTO, Visit Grand Junction secured a TV spot on the Weather Channel featuring Grand Junction in their Passport to Winter television news segment on January 6, 2023. Area topics that were discussed include Powderhorn Mountain Resort, friendly locals, the Grand Mesa, and cross-country skiing.
