Get excited for this semester's Big/Little Week! We've been planning a whole week's worth of fun events for you guys, so come and hang out with your bigs, littles and families with us!
Here's a list of events for BIG/LITTLE WEEK 2.0 (mark your calendars):
--Sunday Jan 26: Cultural Potluck 7pm @ Ern Commons:
COME FOR FREE FOOD! If you like to cook and would like to bring something, fill out this form!
--Monday Jan 27: Café OYFA 9pm @ Clark 108:
Having trouble finding a place to study? Come to Clark 108 with your fellow OYFANS! We'll have an entire auditorium for ourselves and coffee/refreshments will be provided!
--Tuesday Jan 28: Hibachi Grill Buffet Dinner 7pm:
Bring your student IDs for a discount! (Rides will be provided)
--Wednesday Jan 29: Movie Night 9pm @ Runk Green Room: We'll be watching Toy Story 3, so bring your friends and de-stress for a mid-week break!
--Thursday Jan 30: Zumba Night 7PM - Location TBD:
Haven't had a chance to visit the gym lately? We'll be holding a Zumba class taught by certified Zumba instructor & OYFA membership chair, Andrea Valdez! Wear comfortable shoes & attire!
--Friday Jan 31: Family Food Fest - Location TBD:
Do you like food? Do you like competitions? Do you like competitions with food? Come swing by for some food-filled excitement hosted by our very own PR committee!
--Sat Feb 1: Girls/Guys Sleepover - Location TBD:
Cap off a long week with the guys and girls of OYFA. We'll be splitting up into two apartments by gender for a sleepover!
Girls: come ready for a night of chick flicks, games, and bonding! Bring your munchies!
Guys: just come. We'll do stuff.
It's going to be as fun as THIS.
Last but not least, we'll be resuming our weekly membership dinners beginning THIS TUESDAY, January 21st @ Newcomb Dining hall @ 6PM! Hope to see you guys there!

Sports
We have about a month until the Winter Classic! If you still want to join, sign up below. We will be holding weekly practices on Fridays. The Winter Classic will be on Saturday February 22. Get excited!
Also, starting next Sunday (Jan 26th), we will start our IM season. Basketball will be at 5:30, and volleyball will be at 9:30, both on Sundays. Look out for more info :)

Hey OYFAm!
While we simply hope your semester has kicked off nicely, we can say for a fact that it will only get better from here! D7 has a promising future with the D7 Football Invitational coming up, as well as culture night season and National Conference!
The D7 Football Invitational will be held at Virginia Tech on February 22nd and you can ~*~FIND~*~ out more about it on the Facebook event page HERE! Sports will be hosting football practices soon, so if you're interested at all, come out and play! As the date approaches, we'll hit you all with more info about the weekend!
If anyone is interested in helping to plan Conference this year, let Jor or me know, and we can let you know all the positions that we need filled! It would be great to have UVA help out with this national collaboration!
Finally, as January's SFAS theme is Culture Nights, be sure to attend your Barrio practices, so that you can help make our culture night the best one EVER!

FIRST YEARS! Want FREE MONEY? Well, keep a lookout for the release of the OYFA Excellence Scholarship Application coming up very soon! Each year, this prestigious scholarship goes out to one outstanding 1st Year OYFAn who has shown high dedication to academics and involvement in the OYFA, A/APA, and greater UVA community. More details to come soon!
Also, the AAPAAN Jack T. Chen Memorial Scholarship for $750 is due Jan 31st. If you are interested, click on this link and apply!

Project Inspire
Project Inspire is the first dance mentorship program on grounds. This volunteer organization works with Venable elementary school students to promote interactive learning through hip hop dance and step. We are an organization made up of representatives from some of the hottest dance organizations on grounds including: X-tasee Dance Crew, S.I.U, and AkadeMiX. Want to help first years transition to UVA? Like giving people advice? Apply to be a Peer Advising Family Network (PAFN) advisor for the 2014-2015 school year! PAFN is a cultural organization that focuses on easing the transition of incoming students and preparing them for future college and career success through academic and professional development.Most of all, PAFN is fun and a great way to form relationships with new people at UVA!
If you would like to apply to be an advisor for the 2014-2015 year, please attend one of the following mandatory information sessions:January 15th, 16th, and 20th @ Newcomb Kaleidoscope Room and January 21st @ Newcomb Commonwealth Room. All 4 info sessions are from 7-8PM. Advisor applications will be released January 22nd.

CAELC/ VISAS: Volunteers with International Students and Scholars
