A message from the Corresponding Secretary

Hey OYFA!

I am honored to inform you about

OYFA'S 2013 FALL SYMPOSIUM
Featuring Rex Navaratte: The Premiere Filipino Comedian
November 14 | 7pm | Newcomb Theater

Be sure to save the date because this (FREE) show is going to be AMAZING! Rex Navarette is a Comedian that is well-known in the Filipino Community. Even if you are NOT Filipino, you should still come out because laughter is universal!

One of his reviews states, ""Whether the audience is of Filipino descent or not, Rex Navarette made it a point to not only allow the audience into the vibrant lifestyle that almost all Filipino’s can agree on, but he also explains why it is we live the life we do, allowing others to relate in their own ways as well."

More details to come, but be sure to mark your Calendars on November 14 at 7pm

Love,
Allan Bagsec

FIND

Hey OYFAns!

So, please remember that we have FIND Dialogue 2013: Makabayan coming up the weekend of November 22-24! However, due to our limited amount of funding for Dialogue, we want to say that we can only take about 20 people to Kean University for this amazing experience. That being said please let us know if you are interested in going! It is imperative that we figure out how many people we need to accommodate as soon as possible, because if there is an overwhelming amount of interest early on, we can work as quickly as possible to allocate additional funding or work something out. Fill out this poll here to receive additional information and we'll get back to you soon!

Jor(jvt2de) & Jasmine(jap8ew)

Trivia Challenge

Be the first to answer back with at least one correct answer to be the next featured OYFAN! But wait! If you answer back with both answers by the end of this week (midnight on Sunday), you will be entered into the Week In OYFA Raffle for a chance to win a prize at the next general meeting if you attend! Remember, the raffle is renewed every month so keep participating!

1. What is Ensaymada?

2. I'm a First Year, and my Ate is Andrea Valdez! Guess Hoo?

This week's Featured OYFAn is Allan Bagsic!

Tell us a little about yourself! Hi OYFA! My name is Allan Bagsic and I am a third year in the College of Arts and Sciences double majoring in Economics and Foreign Affairs. I'm from Virginia Beach, VA (757)! Last year, I was Recording Secretary and was co-family head for the Lubi-Lubi family. This year, I am Corresponding Secretary and I am co-family head for the Maglalatik family. I have 4 of the BEST littles out there: Richard Lay, Courtney Cooper, John Kim, and Kevin Phung. I love all of them to death! In my spare time I like to sleep, shop, or stress clean.

....LOL

If you could rewind to an OYFA memory, what would it be and why? I would rewind way back to first year when I first met my best friends: Nikoe, Christine, Danielle, and Taryn. They're the reason why I love OYFA, and it's amazing to see how involved we still are despite our other commitments. I love you guys!

Answers to the previous trivia questions:
1. 7107 (this can vary depending on the tides)
2. Harvey Ngo (and Peter Kim also happens to fit the description as well!)
