A message from the President!

Hey OYFA!

Interim elections will be held on October 20th, 12PM @ Maury 209! Last year after Board and Council elections, there were five spots open - Corresponding Secretary, ISIP (2), PR, and Historic - where the positions were filled in last Spring through an interview and application process. OYFA will be holding Interim elections in October to instate interim council members.
So far, the people listed below are running for these respective positions:

Corresponding Secretary: Allan Bagsic
Initiative Studies in Pilipino (ISIP): Angeli Mendoza and Jenny Hodge
Historic: Christine Chen
Public Relations (PR): Katherine Jiang

Anyone can also run during interim
elections, even first years! Email me (cal3tt@virginia.edu) if you would like to be put in the ballot or have any questions about the election process.

Thank you guys for coming out to our events! We have a lot of fun events planned for you all, such as Filipino Food Night and the Lakas 5K, so get excited!

Have a good week and enjoy your Fall Break!
-Camille Lorenzana

PS: Shoutout to the Singkil family!

Hey OYFAmily!

First off, we'd like those of you helped us chalk last Thursday night! It successful and extremely helpful for PR, Historic, Community, and Sports!

Also, we are taking nominations for Date Auction from now until THIS WEDNESDAY (10/9) - this date has changed from what we had originally said. Date Auction will be held on October 22 and we want as many OYFAns as possible to be there to support our nominees, so save that date in your calendars! For anyone who doesn't know, Date Auction is an annual event held by ASU in preparation for ASU Semi-Formal, which will be November 9 this year, to help raise money for a specific charity. Each Asian organization nominates members to show off their talents and be "bought" by someone else as their date for Semi-Formal.

If there is someone you want to nominate please email Nicole (naw4hr) or (dbe5pj) with their name ASAP. Please make sure to only nominate new members! If you are a new member who has been nominated, you will be notified and at that point you can accept or decline your nomination. Once we have the finalized list next WEDNESDAY, the new members will vote!

That's All Folks! Have a great week :)

1. I'm a 2nd year, and I tripped down the stairs of the Rotunda the first time I streaked in front of a bunch of people. Guess Hoo?

2. What event is taking place on Oct. 22 within the ASU community?

This week's Featured OYFAn is Elexa Rallos!

Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Elexa Rallos and I am a first year reppin' the 757. I am from Virginia Beach, VA but was born in California and have done a lot of moving since I'm a Navy brat. I'd like to either be a biology or psychology major, hopefully in the pre-med or PA track. I love to go shopping, eat, and go to the gym and stay fit; hit me up and we should go together sometime! I spend my days at the MAC and my nights in Rice so find me distracting myself at one of those locations. Shout out to my wonderful bigs: Michael Ramada and Christine Tran and to my lovely co-sib: Melissa (Mel) Zhu!

Oh and you'll most likely always see me with my other half of almost four years: Vince Egalla :P

Favorite GIF?
This is my favorite GIF because it's accurate and I love Adventure Time.
^That's also my Tumblr so feel free to follow me

Favorite OYFA Memory so far?
I really love doing the Global Expo practices because it gives me the opportunity to bond with my fellow OYFA babies :) <3
