Thank you for making me feel so welcome during my first months at Literacy Green Bay! Your personal emails, notes and pictures warmed my heart. I also enjoyed meeting the tutors and volunteers who stopped in to say hello. You made my heart smile.
Do you know someone who would be a great tutor?
Literacy Green Bay is looking for people (like yourself) who are interested in working with adult learners one-on-one to teach reading and writing. No experience necessary! Training is provided.
The Fall Tutor Training Workshops consist of 4 sessions:
Session 1: Monday, October 19 (3 hours)
Session 2: Wednesday, October 21 (3 hours)
Session 3: Monday, October 26 (3 hours)
Session 4: Saturday, November 7 (9 am to 12 pm)
Think carefully … would any of your friends, coworkers and neighbors be interested in becoming a tutor? If you think of anyone, talk to them and see if they are interested. Next email me their name, email address and phone number. I will reach out and share information on our program!
Write a Review & Help Literacy Green Bay earn a “Top Rated” badge from GreatNonProfits!
We have gotten this badge the past several years and I want us to get it again! To do so, we need to get at least 10 reviews with a 4-star rating on their website by the end of October. Tutors, this would be a great activity for you and your student to do together! Go to the link below and click on the orange “Share Your Story” button.
Literacy GB is seeking an Adult ELL Classroom Instructor
Literacy Green Bay is looking for individuals to join our team of English Language Learning Classroom Instructors to teach in-person classes when we begin offering them again (date to be determined – hopefully by winter, 2020). If you’ve enjoyed tutoring, but would like to make an impact on even more learners, this might be the perfect fit for you. A teaching certification is not required, but previous teaching or tutoring experience is.
Classes take place Monday and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, in the mornings (9:00-11:30) or evenings (5:45-8:15). Class levels include Intro, Level 1 and Level 2. This is a paid position. Please see Literacy Green Bay’s website at https://www.literacygreenbay.org/job-opportunites for more information and to learn how to apply. Please consider applying or pass the word on to others who would be interested in this opportunity!
Looking for Office Volunteers
Would you or someone you know like to help your favorite non-profit by assisting with some office tasks? Literacy Green Bay is looking for an office volunteer who can make a mid to long term commitment (6 months or longer) to working at least once a week for a minimum of two hours. If you enjoy computer work, data entry, filing, organizing, and other small projects, this could be a great fit for you. We work hard to ensure we have a COVID-free environment! Please contact Robyn Hallet at 920-435-2474 ext 103 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested!
The tutors at Literacy Green Bay are the BEST! Thank you for all that you do!
