Kia Ora,

My name is Megan I am the Centre Supervisor at the Rainbow Corner Invercargill
I am a qualified Primary and Early Childhood teacher and have been working in Early Childhood for the past 8 years. I am a Southlander born and bred however I love to explore the world and experience new cultures, on my last trip I travelled with a group to Mexico where I helped to set up Medical centres and also led a children's programme in the poverty stricken areas.
One of my passions in teaching is helping tamariki to get in touch and build connections with their local community and having the opportunity to actively explore the wider world around them, whether this is by visiting local business or taking trips to areas of nature where tamariki can have the freedom to explore openly.
I strongly believe in providing tamariki with an inclusive environment where they feel safe, secure and confident. Where they are able to explore, experiment and develop their own ideas alongside others.
I look forward to growing our centre further as well as getting to know all our wonderful whanau.

Pink Ribbon Day@Takanini

Our tamariki raised funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation by making cookies for the morning tea we hosted today. They made salt dough ribbons and pink t-shirts to show their aroha for woman all over the world who face this battle. We want to thank all our whanau who attended our morning and made a donation to show support.

Activities @Invercargill Centre

We are so lucky to have so much to explore in our Local Community in Invercargill, the children have been able to go for short walks to watch the construction of a new building just down the road, as well as walking along the walkway behind the centre to look for and forage for some natural resources.

During these outings, we have also been lucky to spot lots of different birdlife, as well as some different and exciting vehicles such as; planes, trucks, cranes and planes.
