AFTER REGISTERING A DOMAIN NAME, WHAT NEXT?
Depending on the services being provided and agreement, the registration of a domain name does not automatically provide a  website. Your registered domain name is your online identity. It is a name that serves as your website address. Your domain name gives you the opportunity to create custom email addresses. You would however still need to provide the content for the website, as well as to host the website on the Internet.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 12TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF NIRA
Due to the challenges of COVID-19, NiRA was forced to move its 2020 Annual General Meeting from April 2020 to July 2020. The guidelines set out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to contain the spread of COVID-19 had barred the gathering of people so NiRA held the 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of its members on Thursday 30th July, 2020 via the NiRA’s Zoom platform. The virtual AGM was chaired by Mr. Muhammed Rudman, the NiRA President. In his Opening statement to Members, he reported on the growth of the .ng brand and improvement in the operations of NiRA.

A Message from The President
PRESIDENT’S SPEECH
Statutorily, the 2020 AGM should have been held not later than four months following the end of the financial year 2019. This means that the 2020 AGM should have been held before 30th April 2020. But we are all aware that the lockdown in Lagos State due to the COVID-19 prevented public gathering of a large number of people. We have also seen how COVID-19 is accelerating digital transformation of communities.
On the 30th July 2020, I welcomed members of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) to the NiRA 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was a virtual experience for NiRA members. I am grateful for the successful hosting of the first virtual Annual General Meeting for NiRA members.
