Hello!

There has been a slight change in our plans for Washtenaw County Board of Comission Meeting.  You see, I read in the Ann Arbor Chronicle that "[Board Chair Yousef] Rabhi said he plans to bring the resolution forward again on Oct. 2."  I should have checked my facts before emailing you.  A quick look at the October 2nd Agenda reveals that the item in fact is not on the Agenda.  I have seen emails from County officials stating the chair never re-added it to the Agenda, but could of course ask for it to be re-added at any time for some future meeting (provided proper public notice under the Michigan Open Meetings Act).  Of course, The Chronicle could have reported it wrong or maybe Mr. Rabhi changed his mind.  At any rate, we'd like to make sure he keeps this off the agenda...

Therefore, we're still planning to show up at the comission meeting this Wednesday to express our thoughts during public comment and let them know we are watching.  Won't you join us to either speak during public comment or offer moral support for those who do?

Here's the details:
Date:October 2nd, 2013 (This Wednesday)
Time: 6:45 PM
Where: Washtenaw County Administration Building, Board Room
220 N. Main Street
Ann Arbor, Michigan

I hope I can count on you to show up and echo my voice.  Please plan to make the trip to Ann Arbor this Wednesday to help us show support for "Stand Your Ground" and other second amendment rights here in Michigan.

Hello!

We've reported to you in the past few weeks that the Washtenaw County Board of Comissioners is trying to pass a resolution urging the State Legislature to:

  • Repeal Stand Your ground
  • Expand background checks to include long guns (READ: Registration)
  • Limit Magazine capacity.
Two weeks ago the meeting was on the agenda, but the board of commissioners pulled it at the last minute, no doubt in part because they knew we were coming!  They have now put in back on the agenda -- maybe hoping none of us would notice -- but we have!

Here's the details:
Date:October 2nd, 2013 (This Wednesday)
Time: 6:45 PM
Where: Washtenaw County Administration Building, Board Room
220 N. Main Street
Ann Arbor, Michigan

I hope I can count on you to show up and echo my voice.  Either speak your mind to the commission directly or show moral support for those who do.  Please plan to make the trip to Ann Arbor this Wednesday to help us show support for "Stand Your Ground" and other second amendment rights here in Michigan.
