YEAR IN REVIEW
December Winter Social

Sara handed over the reins to Ildi, with the metaphor of aspen trees, that they shelter growing pine trees, and self-propagate, creating an underground network. Sara also reviewed all of our program, membership, and financial progress for the year - much to be proud. Food and service were great, venue was cozy and felt just right.

2016 YEAR IN REVIEW  -
YEAR OF ENRICHMENT & ENHANCEMENT

The Programs Committee brought us nine events, including three virtual programs and one in-person program in Santa Fe. We thank all of our stellar presenters of 2016:
  • Krista Martin - Marketing for Coaches
  • Mary Beth Shewan - Captain and Crew
  • Sandy Mitsch - Rising Strong
  • Vicki Van Horn - Coaching Money Topics
  • Julie Claire - Creativity in Coaching
  • Elizabeth Roll - When Business and Organizational Issues Show up in Coaching
  • Ann Betz - Neuroscience and Coaching
  • Barb White, Sara Douglas and John Ledwith - Group Coaching Skills
* The Membership Committee not only met their goal but actually exceeded it by 16%. Currently ICFNM has 61 Members and 10 Associates. Membership drives were streamlined and utilized our social media pages as well as direct contact. The Communities of Practice groups included the topic of credentialing and the continuation of the Co-Active book club.

* The Communications Committee utilized a mix of virtual platforms and tried and true paths, including the first ever ICFNM Facebook Live event, developing the newsletter content and participating in the Alliance Mixer in which we unveiled our ICFNM banner. Leadership Team members now also have elegant notecards to maintain personal touch connections.

* Our treasurer reports throughout the year demonstrate our Chapter’s strength and stability. These reports are timely, provide accurate financial information and further demonstrate the Chapter’s remarkable use of resources.

Ann Betz

Ann gave great insights into the neurological reasons why so many coaching tools actually WORK, and challenged us as coaches to explore how the power of storytelling and sharing knowledge and wisdom with clients can be effective coaching tools if offered under the right circumstances.

It is common that our clients – no matter what type of coaching we provide – will raise concerns about interpersonal conflicts they are experiencing in their professional and personal lives. It can be challenging for some coaches to know what coach-approach is optimal. Please join our January meeting when conflict specialist and certified coach Cinnie Noble will share her experience about what she discovered in her research and her coaching practice, in this regard.

Cinnie will discuss her evidence-based CINERGY® model of conflict management coaching (also known as conflict coaching) – specifically designed to help clients optimize their ability to manage and engage in conflict. She will share the principles that informed the development of this model, and a coaching tool she created.

Coaches will gain insights into what the conflict management coaching process is and what distinguishes this form of coaching from others. The focus will be on three main coaching competenciesgoal setting, perspective taking and questioning skills.

VALUE OF COACHING CORNER

Donna Robbins was inspired to share the tips shared at the December Social Event. These tips as well as many more will be compiled and published for our membership in 2017. We hope these wet your whistle. If you are interested in submitting, please send yours to info@icfnewmexico.org
  • Jean shared her SMARTER goals tool.
  • Heidi discussed her pre-coaching planning tool.
  • Kathryn had a wonderful tool, which involves, when people think they have two choices, have them consider 5 choices; choice 1, choice 2, neither, both, and something you haven't thought of yet.
  • Another attendee mentioned writing a letter to themselves from their future self, especially when considering risky choices.
  • Grace discussed phenomenology.
