Awards Banquet- March 7, 2020

Our Awards Banquet for our 2-day racers will be in the Village Conference Centre, located at 242 Jozo Weider Blvd

Registration opens at 5 pm with the Athlete Parade starting promptly at 6:15 pm
As in previous years, the athletes will walk into the room with their team and sit at their team table at the front of the room. Seating for parents is not assigned. No physical tickets will be issued as we will have a registration desk at the Banquet with the names of everyone who purchased tickets. Registration will be under the last name of your athlete. You will be provided with a wristband that must be worn at all times. Please do not lose or take off your wristband as we cannot replace it.

As last years awards banquet went longer than anticipated members requested a shorter ceremony and more time for dancing and celebration. The agenda was reviewed and shortened. The Awards section of the Banquet will also have slight changes.

Awards given out during the night will include:
Team Awards
Best Female
Best Male

Age Group Awards (1 per age group)
Most Improved (U10, U12, U14, U16)
Most Spirited (U10, U12, U14, U16)

Please also note that Blue Mountain will be giving out the Awards for Club Champs on Sunday, March 8th. Please see Anna’s note for additional information.

As a reminder, parents are responsible for their athletes during the Banquet. Please speak to your athletes to remind them that there is no running in the Banquet room.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday night for some great food, fun, and dancing!

 1 Day Banquets
Blue Mountain hosts the 1 Day Banquets. Information on the Banquets can be found in Anna’s update below but dates and times are:

Sunday Program - March 8, 2020 / 1:00pm - 2:30pm

On Saturday, Feb. 29 we hosted a U12 race at Blue Mountain which did not have

enough parent volunteers.  Our club is built on volunteering and requires that everyone contributes in some way to ensure that the season is a success, races are safe and run properly for all athletes.  Thanks to the quick response of Blue Mountain and some people the race was able to run.  Please do your part and volunteer whenever you can and especially if it is your athlete’s team that is racing.

Volunteers are needed for club championships this Saturday and for the banquet Saturday evening.  Please be sure to sign up for a shift.  We recommend that you pick a shift for a different age group than your athlete(s) so you can enjoy watching your athlete(s) during their race(s).  We must say though that there is nothing quite like standing 20’ from a gate as a gate judge watching the kids fly by!

Club Championships

This weekend is our official end of season race…… Club Championships!!

This is a big deal for the kids and a great opportunity to race against all of the Jozo kids in their age group. As with all home races, we cannot do this without parent volunteers. Why not volunteer for a different age group so you can be at the bottom of the hill cheering on your racer(s). PLEASE SIGN UP FOR AN ON-HILL POSITION. Please note there is a tab on the spreadsheet for each of the different age groups so be sure to make a note of which age group you are signing up for.

Times in the sign-up sheet are approximate and WILL change on the day so volunteers will need to be flexible. All Club Championship volunteers are invited to join the What’s App group below and follow the updates on timing, course resets etc.

For Non-Jozo club members, $20 per athlete can be paid on our online store to receive access to your athlete's photos.  Please be sure to provide your athlete(s) name, bib # and your email address in the notes at checkout to receive the photos after the event.
