There are two community gardens in New Castle, both administered by the local non-profit InterGenerate.
The Chappaqua garden is located on the property of the Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps, who has generously permitted us to garden there since 2011. This long-established garden usually has only one or two openings a year, but it is always worth inquiring about.
The Millwood garden just opened last year, and has 30 raised beds, and plenty of spots available. It is located at the base of Sand Street, off of route 100 in Millwood, about a mile or two north of Rocky’s.
In both gardens, people can rent an entire bed to garden for themselves, or they can sign up to be part of a team that gardens together or a team that grows food for donation to those in need.
This event is possible is because of the generous support of the local merchants and civic organizations in and around New Castle. The financial contributions and product donations we receive help greatly in running this event.
If you or your organization is interested in being a sponsor or have any questions, please contact the New Castle Recreation Department at (914) 238-7290 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
