You may be aware that starting from midnight this Sunday is our first Week of Prayer and Fasting as a church in 2020!
Prayer will be a key focus for us as a church this year, and we wanted us as a community, and for each of us as individuals to start this year strong, focused, and giving our attention to the things that matter most. For us to give a week dedicated to prayer and fasting will help us all have our attention on what is important. We would love EVERYONE to engage with this week.
BOOK A SLOT IN THE 24/7 PRAYER ROOM: In the small building in the car park is our prayer room that we would love to be filled 24/7 throughout the week. Book an hour slot HERE. P.S. If you're unable to physically attend, why not book in a pray remotely/virtually? To do that, when you book in, put a little 'v' next to your name to indicate that you'll be praying somewhere!
USE THE 1 HOUR GUIDED PRAYER: As we are challenging ourselves to pray for a whole hour during that week, then, to help us, we've put together an hour long audio podcast. It includes questions, reflection points, times of silence and bible passages. Listen to it HERE. P.S. It's also available on Spotify - search 'Kerith Prayer'.
On Wed 15th January from 7.30pm we're hosting the Kingdom Come Night in Bracknell and West Wight. This is a termly night for people from all Kerith sites to come together for a time of worship, ministry and prayer. These events are really well attended and are a fantastic unstructured time, well worth a night out.
P.S. Can't be with us physically? Why don't you gather in your small groups and pray & worship together with us via LIVE STREAM: kerith.church/live
Equip Starting Again on 20th Jan!
Equip is where we start our Theology Track. The course will help you to develop your understanding of the Bible by exploring the people, books and themes inside so you can piece the big picture together.
Equip is a two-year programme delivered in evenings over 6 terms. The Bible is pretty big, isn't it! We'd love for you to join us for the entire journey, but you don't have to: if you prefer you can "hop on" and "hop off", joining in for a term or more as it works for you. This term's focus is: Term 2 - Kingdoms and Exile (the history of Israel from entering the land, to being forced out of it!)
You will journey with others in a small group setting for this learning, incorporating worship, teaching, discussions and prayer into your experience. So we'll not only discover God's story, we'll make friends along the way, too. Sign up for the course HERE.
P.S. Equip Term 2 cost is £60. If the cost would be a barrier to you, please get in touch as we do want anyone to be able to come.
Explore the Meaning of Life. Try Alpha
The mix of great food, great conversations and a chance to explore faith in a relaxed atmosphere is the reason why since its launch over 1.2 million Britons have attended an Alpha Course.
Never been to church? Not sure what you believe? Maybe you gave up on church a long time ago. The course was designed for you or anyone who doesn’t go to church regularly.
Alpha is a 10-week course with a day away in the middle. Each session starts with food, followed by a short talk that looks at a different aspect of the Christian faith. This is followed by a time of discussion in a small group of 10-12 people.
The next course starts on 22nd of Jan, 7.30pm in Bracknell. SIGN UP HERE.
Could I Lead a Small Group?
As we head into a new year, many of us have ideas and dreams of things we would love to do, things that would stretch, grow and develop us. Today, we want to let you know about one way in which you can do just that.
You may be aware that we have small groups meetings throughout the week, run on a termly basis. They last somewhere between 8-10 weeks (which is ideal for a short-term commitment), and will be starting up around the end of January, finishing by Easter. We are now in the time when we are looking for new leaders to sign up to run these small groups!
...So, maybe you have an idea for a small group already? Doesn't matter if you have led one before or not - we provide short training and ongoing support.
SOME IDEAS FOR INSPIRATION:
- Group for men or women, for young or retired folks
- Bible Study
- Prayer or prophetic nights
- Dog walking / running / jogging / hiking ...
P.S. Check our Growth Track Courses here and see if you'd like to run any of them.
Our youth programme runs in a 3-weekly model and repeats twice a half term. Youth runs every term time Friday! Just a reminder of the model:
OUT Nights: Run across all of our Kerith sites, where we gather usually offsite in a public location to have a night of fun and activates. This is a great time to connect with friends, and deepen your relationships with the youth on your site! These are ideal nights to bring your friends from school too. We never want money to be a barrier that stops your young person from attending. So please contact your Site Youth Lead if you would like support on these nights.
K Crew Nights: Small groups that run in homes across all of our sites. This is a night to deepen relationships with each other, and with God. Each group has an over 18 youth leader. To get your young person in a group, contact your site youth leader!
Regional nights: We gather all of our sites in our Bracknell location, for a big youth event. Come to party, experience amazing worship from our youth band, and hear a powerful preach from one of our youth leaders, young people, or special guests!
Please don’t hesitate in emailing your site youth lead to ask any questions, to find out about what is going on for your site, or to get your young person in a K Crew:
