Ontario Championships This Weekend


This weekend 17 clubs from all across Ontario will come to the Rideau Canoe Club to compete at the Ontario Championships. More than 500 athletes of all ages will be paddling on Mooney's Bay Saturday and Sunday. The U16+ will be paddling on Saturday and the U14 on Sunday.

Pan American Games medalists Alanna Bray-Lougheed (Burloak), Drew Hodges (Rideau) and Rowan Hardy- Kavanagh (Rideau) will be in attendance and competing. Also competing will be Junior World Championship medalists Maren Bradley (Rideau), Toshkah Besharah (Rideau), Ella Hodgson-Pageau (Rideau), Kate Pennyfather (Burloak), and Sarah Nagy (Richmond Hill). You will be able to see them in action on Saturday.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THERE IS NO VEHICLE PARKING ON THE FIELD AND THAT THE HOG'S BACK BRIDGE IS CLOSED FOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC; PEDESTRIANS CAN CROSS BY THE LOCK.

Rideau Paddlers will be competing next week at the ICF Senior World Championships in Szeged, Hungary

Rideau athletes Natalie Davison and Maddy Schmidt are training with Team Canada in Germany getting ready to compete at the ICF Senior World Championships  next week in Szeged, Hungary. Racing starts on Wednesday and finishes on Sunday.
