Rideau paddlers compete at Jr Worlds
Paddle-A-Thon: Raise funds for the club!

The grace period to get used to the new parking lot rules is ending. Starting tomorrow, August 1, you may be ticketed if you park without a permit at designated times.
The ICF Junior World Championships start tomorrow. The paddle-a-thon is tomorrow. You can make your contribution online. Read below for more information.

Tomorrow, August 1st, from 5 pm to 7 pm, we'll have our annual Paddle-A-Thon.

The Annual Rideau Canoe Club Paddle-A-Thon will see all club members paddle as many 200 meters sprints on canoes and kayaks as possible on August 1 from 5 PM to 7 PM while raising money for RCC programs. The minimum donation to participate is $20. Registration starts at 4:30 pm.

There will be prizes awarded at the end of the Paddle-A-Thon to the top fundraiser, the athlete that paddles the most 200 meters sprints and the athlete that paddles the fastest 200 meters sprint.

Rideau Junior Women Ready to Take on the World

3 Rideau Canoe Club athletes headed to Romania for Junior World Championships

The Rideau Canoe Club will be well represented this week at the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Junior World Championships taking place in Pitesti, Romania, with three of Rideau’s Junior Canoe and Kayak athletes racing for Canada at the Championships. Read more...

Ella Hodgson-Pageau with Kate Pennyfather will compete in the C2 Jun Women 200. Toshka Besharah will compete in the K1 Jun Women 200, Maren Bradley with Adriana Osende will compete in the K2 Jun Women 500 and  Maren Bradley and Toshka Besharah will compete in the K4 Jun Women 500 with Adriana Osende and Sarah Nagy.

Bridge Update

Hog's Back Swing Bridge closing to cars Aug. 12

Starting planning your new route now if your car commute is via the Hog’s Back Swing Bridge.

The swing bridge will closed Aug. 12 for about eight months of “critical” repairs, Coun. Riley Brockington said.
