Volunteers Training

I hope you had a great Canada Day. Last weekend the Canada Cup East was successfully run at the club. The club was also used as a stage for the Governor General's Canada Day message.
This weekendd the U14 program athletes go to Gananoque for their first regatta of the season, the first for many of them! The rest of the athletes, U16+ to Masters, will compete at the Rideau Regatta at the club. We need volunteers to help running it! To ease the learning curve the club is offering training for you! Keep reading and GO RIDEAU GO!

Canada Cup

Our annual Canada Day Regatta was another great success. It seems like a long time since we’ve run this event without a single weather related delay so thanks to Mother Nature for cooperating with us this year.

There was a very competitive field resulting in a lot of thrilling finishes over the weekend. Congratulations to Team Ontario for winning the overall burgee. Another congratulations to all of the athletes and their coaches for the great racing. You put on a great show!

A very big thank you goes out to all of the volunteers that participated. It was really inspiring to see many of you put in double, triple or quadruple shifts over the weekend. And the best part was to see that you were having fun doing it! We can’t hold events like this without volunteers, so a huge thanks for doing what you did to make it a big success.
