U14 Sprint Summer Program

The Rideau Canoe Club has been successfully growing thanks to the great U14 Sprint Summer Program. Kids age 9 to 14 come during the summer to learn the skills necessary to be a good paddler and to enjoy meeting other boys and girls in a safe, fun and healthy environment. During the spring they can come after school to have a head start with their fitness to be ready for the summer! During the fall they can keep paddling after school to take advantage of the nice weather and the water as much as possible.

U16/U18 and High Performance Programs

Rideau's U16/U18 and High Performance Programs are the best in the country. These athletes get ready to defend the Canadian Championships in Regina, SK, and to compete at National and Ontario Team Trials some of them with good chances to qualify for the 2019 National Teams to represent Canada at World Cups, World Championships --Senior, U23 and Junior-- and Olympic Hopes regatta. If you want to be part of the team make sure you register to your program:

Intro to Sprint Paddling

Intro to Sprint Paddling is a two-week introduction to competitive Sprint Canoe-Kayak for athletes aged 14 and under (U14), born between 2005 and 2009. Throughout the camp the paddlers will progress through all the basic skills of sprint paddling. The best decision you'll make for your children!

Alumni Reunion
Last Saturday more than 75 Rideau Alumni from all ages gathered at the canoe club to reconnect and share their experiences. Commodore Tom Hoferek introduced the 7 past commodores in attendance: Mike Scott, Ellis Lindsey, Charles Slade, Bruce Raymond, Phil Caiger-Watson, Sue Holloway and Hector Carranco.

The pictures of the Rideau Canadian Champions of the 1990 and 2000 decades were unveiled as well as the 2018 Rideau Canadian Champions. They will be hung on the canoe club walls in the next few days.

"That was a great event I am feeling very proud of Rideau this morning" was the comment of one of the attendees. Don't miss next year's!
