NAVA Salon Sessions - Artist Roundtable - 24 November 2016, register HERE

Brisbane is bright with artistic activity however changes in support, funding and services can be a hindrance. This small salon session allows artists to voice concerns, challenges and share ideas for future opportunities. Free event.
 

NSW Artists' Grant - due 21 January 2017, apply HERE

This NAVA grant is available to assist professional visual and media arts, craft and design practitioners residing in NSW to produce, present and promote their work. Artists residing in regional NSW and Western Sydney are encouraged to apply.

Congratulations to NAVA Member artist Megan Seres who's picked up the prestigious Doug Moran National Portrait Prize for the painting of her daughter Scarlett depicted as colonial girl Mary Wade. Details here.

In Government
A new inquiry has been announced into the tertiary and vocational education’s ability to provide innovation and creativity. The Committee invites interested persons and organisations to make submissions addressing the terms of reference by 13 January 2017. Details here

A committee of 15 business people, philanthropists and chairs of major cultural institutions has been appointed by the NSW government to guide the policy work of a newly created agency, the Office of Culture, Arts and Screen which merges Screen NSW and Arts NSW into one. More here.
