We are pleased to announce that the City of Vilnius, capital of Lithuania, has just joined the LUCI network! The city of over 588 000 inhabitants is currently in the process of a major streetlighting modernization project, and looks forward to sharing best practices with LUCI member cities.

Lights on! Lucia project lighting conference
Urban lighting professionals are invited to the final conference of the Lucia – Lighting the Baltic Sea Region project on 22-23 September 2021. The conference aims to help local authorities, lighting planners and other stakeholders to implement their plans for energy-efficient, multifunctional and sustainable lighting.

LAiPS project launches two open calls
Light & Art in Public Spaces (LAiPS), a new Creative Europe project led by LUCI has recently launched two open calls:
- We are looking for a Progressive Web App (PWA) developer and designer who can help us create a digital tool to showcase light & art projects using Open Source PWA development tools.

Tipperary launches Ireland's largest smart lighting pilot
One of the largest smart lighting installations of any county council in Ireland is currently underway in Tipperary with over 600 smart LED lights installed across the three pilot sites. This initiative is part of the Interreg North West Europe Smart-Space project.

Reminder: call for abstracts on light for health & wellbeing
Researchers are invited to send abstracts for the international conference on “Shaping light for health and wellbeing in cities” organised by the ENLIGHTENme project online on 16-17 December 2021.The virtual event will bring together representatives from academia, industry and local administrations across Europe for discussions around latest findings on urban lighting in relation to citizen’s health and wellbeing.
