City of Madrid joins LUCI
Welcome to the City of Madrid, a brand new LUCI member! The city aims to focus on ensuring quality lighting for monuments, streets and urban landscapes, as well as creative lighting events for special occasions. It just successfully launched its first light festival, LuzMadrid this October!
LUCI AGM Tartu  a one-of-a kind event
The LUCI Annual General Meeting 2021 in Tartu, Estonia last month gathered over 200 participants representing 44 cities in a one-of-a kind, hybrid format. Lighting design and light art in Tartu; smart lighting; light in European Capitals of Culture these were just some of the topics discussed. See photos and highlights here >>

Conference on light and health in cities
Be sure to join the international conference “Shaping light for health and wellbeing in cities” taking place on 16 – 17 December 2021 online. Organised by the ENLIGHTENme project consortium, the conference will investigate the multifaceted consequences light has on life in cities, exploring indoor and outdoor lighting impacts on health and wellbeing.

Image Turin light& Art Lab
Turin hosts first Light & Art Lab 
The Light & Art Lab of the EU project Light & Art in Public Spaces (LAiPS) got off to a great start in Turin on 8-10 November 2021. It brought project cities Lyon and Oulu to Turin, for site visits and peer-to-peer discussions to experience the Luci d’Artista festival and exchange on light art projects. Learn more here >>

Call for proposals - Tartu 2024
The City of Tartu has just launched a call for proposals to support the implementation of international cultural projects interpreting the concept of the Arts of Survival of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 in the years 2023–2024.

  • Learn more about the special edition of the Ghent Light Festival which celebrated its 10-year anniversary on 10-14 November 2021 by bringing back four of the public's favourite light art installations.
     
  • See photos and videos from the GLOW light festival featuring installations and light artworks in and around Eindhoven on 6 – 13 November 2021.  
     
  • Check out the LUMIERE festival which took place in Durham on 8 – 21 November 2021.
