City of Pessac joins LUCI
The City of Pessac in the urban area of Bordeaux in south-west France has just joined the LUCI network. The municipality aims to manage its 10 000 lighting points in the most optimised manner to fight against light pollution and energy waste.

Light sketching in Eindhoven
LUCI members learnt about a new tool, currently being tested in Eindhoven, that aims to help find a balance between conflicting lighting demands (for humans and for nature) in urban green spaces. The City of Eindhoven and designer Philip Ross presented the Light Sketching system and its initial results so far.

Open call for abstracts on light for health & wellbeing
Researchers are invited to send abstracts for the international conference on “Shaping light for health and wellbeing in cities” organised by the ENLIGHTENme project online on 16-17 December 2021.The virtual event will bring together representatives from academia, industry and local administrations across Europe for discussions around latest findings on urban lighting in relation to citizen’s health and wellbeing. The night is beautiful in Geneva
The City of Geneva celebrated the second edition of "La nuit est belle!" (“The Night is Beautiful”) on 21 May. Launched in 2019, this initiative celebrates the darkness by inviting municipalities in the Greater Geneva region to switch off their public lighting for one night.
