This Week at the Market....

NEW BEAT FARM

New Beat is excited to share some spring sunshine with you at market this week!
We’ll be making a guest appearance with fresh greens and baby kale this Friday as well as an assortment of lamb cuts. We’ll have ground, rib and loin chops, and shanks for sale.
Looking forward to seeing you!
APPLETON CREAMERY

Kidding season is in full swing at Appleton Creamery! We are still looking for volunteers to help feed kids daily at 7 a.m., noon, and 5 p.m. Drop us an email or stop by our table at market at chat! And no, we do not do goat yoga or put silly little sweaters on our kids! What we can offer you is a chance to sit in a pen in a sunny high tunnel and have little kids crawl all over you. If that’s not a good spring tonic, I don’t know what is!

This week at market, we should have a tiny bit of the earliest fresh goat cheese. The goats didn’t start kidding quite as early as we thought, so milk is precious right now. As always, we have plenty of feta, cow’s milk camdenbert, and several aged hard cow cheeses.

Mark your calendar for our fourth annual Kid Hugging Day, Sunday, April 28, 11-4. The YumBus will be there, along with Stone Fox Creamery Ice Cream, and Energy Gems!

I hope you will vote for our cheese in the Down East Annual Readers Choice. https://downeast.com/tag/readers-choice/

Freedom, our official spokesgoat for our year-long Silver Jubilee celebration, delivered an enormous 12.5 kid today

Latest Kidding Update - We’re up to 16 moms and 33 kids! 14 kids born today.
TODDY POND FARM

Back in February we purchased four beautiful Gotland ewes from another Maine farm, with the plan to bring some very desirable fiber genetics into our flock. Last Saturday, Apple had a little ram lamb (pictured). He's the cutest little guy, full of energy a great nurser and his mama is so protective and doting. The image is blurry because the little guy barely ever stands still.

Today we are heading back into our creamery to resume yogurt production after a much enjoyed break - for both us and our lovely cows. In the next week or so, our yogurts will be back on the shelves in our farm store and at your favorite local stores. Thank you for your patience and loyalty.

And in other news - we've got lots of exciting plans for this summer....
